Leisure & Pleasure at Duxton Hotel Rotorua

The property is located on seven acres of park like surrounds.  There is plenty of room to stretch out and make use of the activities and facilities on offer.

Gym

The Gym is free for all guests.  Having views of the Lake Rotoiti, it makes that extra kilometer so much easier! 

Pool

The outside heated swimming pool is a favourite.  Open from 7am to 11pm it is located by the reception area.  Free for all hotel guests to use.

Tennis

Two outdoor floodlit tennis courts are available to practice a quick game or two.  Free for all hotel guests to use.

Non-Motorised Water Activities
Take a pedal boat for a cruise around Okawa Bay (Inlet of Lake Rotoiti) and enjoy the scenery.  Feeling more adventurous? Take a pleasure kayak and go further afield.  Life jackets are provided.  Contact reception for hire costs.

Mountain Bikes

Feeling active?  Take a mountain bike for a pedal around the surrounding area, or even to the Rotorua Redwood’s for some adventure.  Helmets provided.  Contact reception for hire costs.

Duxton Three

Really want to get to see Lake Rotoiti?  Nothing beats taking a boat cruise to really get to know the area!  Duxton Three is a luxury pontoon boat that accommodates up to 15 people.  Enjoy a cruise across to the Manupirua Geothermal Hot Springs.  Only accessed by boat they are a true local secret.  Allow up to 2 and a half hours for this trip.  Contact reception for costs involved.  Bookings are essential.

Fishing

Rotorua is the Mecca of Trout fishing.  Whether you want to catch your very first Trout, or are a seasoned pro – we will find the right place and style for you.  Duxton Three is available for hire for fishing trips on Lake Rotoiti or Lake Rotorua.  A minimum of 3 hours fishing is required with a maximum of 4 anglers. Various food and beverage options can be arranged for enjoyment on board the vessel.  Our qualified and experienced fishing guides will help you to land that first fish or the trophy fish you have been chasing.  Fishing licenses will be required and can be organised onsite.  Contact reception for more information on booking and costs involved.

Leisure Activities

We have a number of onsite activities available if you’re not feeling as active and just want to relax.  Play a game of life size chess or pitch a couple of petanque bouls.  Relax and read your favorite book on our dining platforms situated at the lakes edge or simply play a board game which are available from reception.
